  • North West Stages

    Tuesday, 20 February 2007

The tale of Chris Phillips' run on the North West Stages is told below in his own words. Saves me re-writing it as well!!

"First 2 stages were on the Prom but Dunlop haven't come up with a tyre to beat wet sand as yet so dropped a bit of time to the 4x4 lot. The following stages were still wet from the previous day so much the same story. Over tried a bit a re-arranged both front wings & rear light cluster on seperate incidents. Visited the undergrowth in one of our lesser known country homes & needed the specys to extracate us. But still trying to catch the 4x4s. Back to Blackpool prom for the last two of twenty six stages when the clutch cable decided enough was enough & gave out on the pen-ultimate stage. We managed to scrabble a finish with the start marshalls pushing us off the line (thank God for a sequential 'box). At one point we got to 12th o/a & led the class but too many incidents to overcome, eventually coming 22nd & 5th. So no pot this time but maximum WAMC points & Epynt next."

    Wyedean Stages

    Saturday, 10 February 2007

Liz Skinner & Martin Jones shone on the Wyedean Stages today in their Nissan Micra but the event was marred by the death of a competitor. Despite this bad news it was a good day for Liz and Martin, they excelled in the conditions and soundly beat all other competitors in the A5 class. The event was affected by the recent snow and was well run by Forest of Dean Motor Club who have faced a difficult weekend.
