  • Wales Rally GB - Pritchard & Jones Suffer

    Sunday, 9 December 2007

After a trying season in the Citroen C2 Jason Pritchard & Martin Jones still managed to go into Wales Rally GB with a series lead, albeit slim. This was their first attempt at a WRC event and day one went well on the stages with the pair well ahead of the opposition in 66th place. Sadly the car broke down on the road section back to Swansea when the ECU failed. With Superally rules in place the car was repaired for day two only for the wheel studs to shear on Crychan, the first test of the day. With the car repaired once more the third day through Brechfa was embarked on with the car surviving the rough conditions with ease. Despite catching many cars they still scored a good result but it was not enough to claim the championship, the challenge had been good but the tortoise and the hare come to mind when you see that the slower competitors over the season prevailed to take the honours.
