1000 Lanes

Dave Howells and his organising team enthusiastically ran the 1,000 Lanes raly recently, the entry awash with BMC crews. Only criticism of the night was the roughness of parts of Walters Arena, all crews otherwise enjoying their night despite some disasters!
Mike Jones & Robin Moses finished top BMC crew in 13th despite major mal de nav and a fail, Mike now looking forward to getting out in his 1.9 GTi. Will Arrowsmith & Matthew Farr took 15th with one fail, Alwyn Arrowsmith & Andrew Holloway were 17th with 2 fails in the gorgeous Escort and Craig & Josh Jones had fun bending lots of wheels on the way to last place and 31 fails!
Despite all those fails they performed better than their role model father (!) Phil who did some contract fence removal with the Micra. His next event is the Flatters and he has already asked for fences to be marked in his pace notes!
Dai 'Block' Jones & Glyn Price bid a farewell to road rallying on this event but it was no fairytale ending as they were excluded for a giveway infringement, the marshal didn't actually tell them they were excluded and as a result they continued only to go off into a ditch later in the night!
