Wayne Palmer & Martin Jones debuted a recent purchase in the shape of an RS2000 and came away with 19th overall in what looked like a titanic battle for class honours.

Stage rally debutant Ieuan Roberts managed to steer his very pink Avenger to a 43rd overall finish and not last!! Next event for the pink peril is thought to be the Gremlin Rally.

    Jonesey & Basher!
    30/08/2003 22:25

Bad day for the boys today!! Martin Jones competing with Simon Haw thorn for BTRDA honours were having an excellent day until rolling their Escort six times on the final special stage. Simon was taken to hospital for a check up & Martin although bruised and battered was well enough to take a drink at the finish. Nuf said!

Graham Richards aka Basher suffered a trying day with Ian Moseley on the Targa Rusticana with the Mini finally bowing out with alternator troubles. A full preparation programme is now planned to get the Mini in the fettle needed to complete a season of classic car events.

Despite this Martin enjoyed his most committed driver to date and hopes to have another go in the highly competitive Ka series again in the future.

    Late News!!
    09/05/2003 19:49

After a few problems with our ISP, we are now back up & running. As you may already know, Martin Jones recently finished his first International Rally with Richard Hopkins in a Pritchard hire Sub WRC. Well done Martin! The same weekend Martin Leonard finished 3rd on the Y2K3, another local result (!) and Ian Moseley failed to finish at Talbenny with Ed Lloyd in the hybrid Metro.

On the Welsh Martin sat alongside Eian again but suffered water pump failure, a fate that also beset Stuart Cardell co-driving Bob Gibbons in the Escort. Not much luck for them this year. Most momentous occasion has to be the appearance of Jonathon Williams in the ex Winfield Gp N Subaru. Things weren't perfect as the car was on low forest diffs but he did at least get it to the finish, a feat not accomplished by the rest of BMC!!!

    Palmer & Jones Flying!
    20/04/2003 22:17

Pritchard & Jones Go Out In Cornwall
    13/04/2003 17:25

Eian Pritchard & Martin Jones added to the miserable weekend for BMC crews by retiring from the Tour of Cornwall with radiator trouble. It was a shame as they managed to get off to a flying start for a change and could have posted a reasonable result. This was also the first retirement for Martin this year.

    Astra Woes For Cardell!
    13/04/2003 09:44

BMC member Stuart Cardell, co-driving for Bob Gibbons, continued their woeful start to the 2003 season when their Mk1 Escort suffered engine problems on the Astra Historic Stages. The car which was sporting a new more powerful unit gave up the ghost on the first stage, not even giving the intrepid duo the chance to evaluate their performance.

    Jonesey Finishes Last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    03/04/2003 21:25

A fraught weekend on the North Humberside saw Martin Jones guiding Simon Hawthorn to last place overall! Despite getting stuck at a chicane, the intrepid duo recovered their car and bagged a useful handful of points by being second registered finisher. It just goes to show the importance of getting to the end regardless of your problems! Well done boys, it could be the difference between first and second by the end of the year.

    Flatters Programme Of Events 2003
    29/03/2003 08:01

The 2003 SGC Printing Harry Flatters Rally will be a two day event with an early recce on Saturday 2nd of August with parallel scrutineering and signing on in Brecon. Clubmans & Classics/Historics scrut & signing on will overspill into the afternoon as these competitors will be contesting the Sunday stages only.

For full event competitors, the rally proper will start on Saturday afternoon & go into the evening. This will be followed by parc ferme.

Basically the Get Connected & Peugeot 206 contenders will be competing on a 'double header' weekend where they can score points on both days. If they fail to finish the first day, there will be a Trophy section on the Sunday.

    Other Gremlin News
    02/03/2003 19:49

A number of other BMC crews and locals took part in this years Gremlin and achieved varying degrees of success. Ecurie Cymraeg member James Chappelle with brother Peter navigating got off to the best possible start in their semi expert careers by winning the class in their Mini while BMC members David Jones and Glyn Price finally broke their duck and won the novice class finishing 17th overall to boot.

Mark Hatton and Robin Moses disappeared during the night and the Arrowsmith brothers broke a clutch cable. Father Alwyn would probably prefer to forget the night as he put a dent in his latest Escort and was OTL at the finish. More news as we get it.

    Big Weekend For BMC Crews
    10/02/2003 19:40

Brecon Motor Club crews were in action at the weekend with Martin Jones partnering Simon Hawthorn on the Wyedean where they finished 61st overall in a huge field of 180 cars. They enjoyed their day but were reduced to following just ruts on some stages which didn't help their overall position.

At Builth on Sunday, Ian Moseley partnered Ed Lloyd in his hybrid V8 Metro on the Wye Valley Charity Stages and actually turned in a good result. After recent teething problems, the car held together and they finished 15th overall, running as high as 12th at one point. Brian Dennis suffered a broken throttle cable early on but contested the Trophy Rally and finished second........out of two!!

Wayne Palmer non started due to brake problems.
